RESEARCH INTERESTS Our major interests lie in the Agriculture animals and their genomic and genic changes in domestication process, especially for the ruminant livestock, such as sheep, goat and cow. In order to explore the agronomic traits related genes, explain their molecular mechanism then support breeding, we generate and assembly the sheep and goat reference genome, re-sequencing more breeds and their wild relatives, get large-scale re-sequencing and RNA-seq data for comparative genomics analysis and whole genome association study. Firstly, we search all of functional variations, such as SNPs and CNVs. Then using GWAS studies combined with multiple evolutionary and comparative genomics tools and methods, we try to get the key genomic regions under artificial or nature selection and focus on meat, fertility, wool and environment adaptation related/causative variations.

RESEARCH INTERESTS My post graduate research mainly focuses on the genetic variants and molecular evolution of Ruminants. My subject is the macroevolution of rumen in Ruminantia. Ruminantia is the most prosperous branch in mammals concluding Perissodactyla and Artiodactyla after the extinction of dinosaurs. The emergence of rumen and the nearly perfect function may lead to robust adaptation and niche diversity. The function of rumen play a key role for ruminants’ survival and evolution. Ruminants occupy an important position in agricultural industry providing numerous economic products for human. I hope to find the origin and function of rumen and the highly efficiency of rumen for the applicable in agricultural production.

Research Interest My research is to build Livestock Genome Database (LGD) and Ruminantia Genome Database (RGD). LGD is a repository of five pan-genomes, including tribe Caprini, genera Bos, Sus, Gallus and Anas, which will be constructed as a detector of sequences, variations and expressions. While RGD consists of 45 ruminant genomes covering all of the six exist families and almost half of the 82 extant genera of ruminant suborder. The main services of RGD are sequence alignments and gene annotation. Researchers can easily access information from our database for further study.

Research Interest During the master period, my mainly subject was The Analysis of Allele-specific Expression in Hybrids of Mallards and Pekin ducks, which reflected the cis-regulatory variants between mallard and Pekin duck. Besides, I participated the project focused on the genetic basis during the domestication of ducks.
Considering that duck is a promising model to explore domestication, I will further investigate the genetic basis of domestication with ducks. Major effect genes and minor effect genes will be systematically screened and the intricate interactions among them will be revealed preliminarily.

Research Interest My recent job focus on getting the pecific specific SNPs of black_boned sheep , we analyses 25494947 SNPs data of 130 sheep from Yunnan province, and locate candidate genes by gene annotation. We caculated Fst value, Pi value, XP-EHH value by sliding windows to analyze the SNP data. The results showed 6698 specific SNPs.
